Thin veils, sparks & trails of light

Tonight I’m craving sparkles, glitter, fairy dust; they warm my heart and keep me up at night! I am writing on the night of Samhain/Halloween, when the veil between worlds is thinnest. Earlier tonight, I held a prayer in my heart for my ancestors and was surprised to later find and watch a documentary about Machu Picchu, the ancient city of the Incas, all by ‘chance.’ Of course, I don’t believe in chance…

And so I have been assembling these beautiful photos with a smile in my heart. They feel like memories, life autumn leaves turning colors—sparkling, surreal, dreamy, ethereal, golden. They are not mine but they capture the way I remember some places, events, people, moments in the landscape of life.

remembrances, ancestral paths, trails of light

visions wrapped in a soft glow, a hazy glow flowing from deep within.

To live in this world

you must be able
to do three things:
to love what is mortal;
to hold it

against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go.

~Mary Oliver (from Poem: In Blackwater Woods)

Feliz dia de los Muertos. May the energy of this post bless all of our ancestors, those on whose shoulders we stand, those who help us see in the dark & keep our dreams alive,
